It's not even winter yet and I have cabin fever. Poor Isaac has been sick the last couple days with a cold and it's been raining so we haven't been going many places. Mo had to go to church alone this morning because we couldn't put Isaac in childcare because of his cold. Thankfully, it wasn't raining today and Mo came home from church wanting to take us somewhere.
I said (half joking), "Let's go to the pumpkin patch."
Much to my surprise he said, "YES!"
So we got directions to Ashland Berry Farm and took off. We traveled about 20 minutes out into the country. We were so excited. Isaac was just happy to be outside. The weather was a perfect 65 degrees and breezy. We parked and walked up to all sorts of exciting things.
The smell of homemade donuts, hamburgers and hot dogs filled our noses reminding me of a county fair. The bright mums were begging to be bought to brighten up suburbia and to bring a little country to the city. They had a Christmas shop, an obstacle course made out of hay bales, a bounce house and much more! We knew we were at the right place when we saw the means of transportation to the pumpkin patch - a HAYRIDE. Could it get any better???
So we hopped on the hayride. Isaac was so happy and overwhelmed at the same time that he didn't know what to think. We went over a few hills and there it was! A beautiful green field dotted with orange. Isaac was beside himself and almost jumped out of my arms.
Isaac happily ran into the patch, picked out his little pumpkin and we plucked it off the vine. Of course, Mommy and Daddy had to pick theirs out as well. Not a bad afternoon for a grand total of $8.
