We had a wonderful day today! We went to a small town north of us with my brother Jason and his family for a old fashioned 4th! Isaac was so excited as we sat on the sidewalk and eagerly anticipated the parade coming down the main street of town. He was clapping before anything even started! It was a small parade with decorated dogs (that's right, people spray painted their dogs for the occasion), bikes, wagons, etc.
Jenni and Josh joined in the three legged race...although they had an advantage because Jenni could almost lift Josh off the ground as they ran.
We had a lovely picnic underneath a big tree and had to strip Conner and Isaac down to their diapers to cool off. The heat was almost too much for them. But we had lots of fun anyway as we listened to patriotic music and topped the afternoon off with a snow cone for the trip home.

Isaac update:
Isaac is growing so fast! It's so hard to believe he was born only 9 months ago. The time has really flown by. He recently had his 9 month appointment at the doctor. He is almost 21 pounds and 31 inches long! He is eating everything in sight. His favorite thing to eat is whatever you are eating. One day he may act like he doesn't like cheese, but if you eat it in front of him then it looks like the most appealing thing in the world.
We are trying out a cup now. He isn't too good with a sippy cup yet because it is hard to suck the milk out, but he is doing better with a cup and a straw. It is so fun to watch him learn and discover. We think he is going to be a little mountain climber. The other day I had the laundry basket in the living room folding laundry. He immediately pulled it off the couch, turned it over, climbed on top of it and scared Mommy to death. He looked at me like he was SO proud of himself. I couldn't help but smile!
He loves standing up and can let go and stand by himself for a few seconds. Then he gets bored and falls down. One more thing Isaac really loves is his Daddy. They have so much fun wrestling and playing games together. One of the games he likes most is when you look at him and say, "How big is Isaac?!" He lifts his hands in the air as far as he can reach and you say to him..."SOOOOO BIIIIGGGG!!!" And he giggles with joy as we have to repeat the game at least a dozen times. But we don't mind because he is just so cute.
I will try to update this blog each week. It is something new I'm trying to get people updated on all the things going on with us. That way you can check out the site on your own time each week to see what's going on with us!
Love you,
Alisa
